Rain clouds fill the sky
The grass beneath her feet
The thunderclaps drown her cry
The sky begins to weep
Her pain, she must keep
The eerie darkness conceals her tears
the grass beneath her knees
her rain-soaked clothes
her tear strained pleas
and everything she sees
No one in this place can hear her
the marble monuments
the cracking stone
All that’s left of life’s transfer
she is all alone
The oppressive downpour relents
the mud in her hands
the silence broke with her strangled cry
as the light of sun expands
A figure in the light
a voice she does not know
“This place is for the living
Oh wanton spirit, GO!”
